Venus Davis is the founder/CEO of Royalty Mentoring Inc. She is a hardworking, passionate, dedicated, integral, a life-long learner, a faith filled person not to mention an active listener. Even though she would much rather be behind the scenes making things happen her leadership skills won’t allow for it.
Venus was born and raised in Spanish Harlem before relocating to South Jersey prior to her starting Junior High School. She graduated from Williamstown High School in 2002. She attended Wilberforce University for a year and half before transferring to Hampton University where she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. After graduation she became the store manager of a sneaker store, where she found out that sales and retail were not her thing, but her staff became like her kids. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Administration of Human Services from Wilmington University.
Since 2010, Venus has been the alternate within her parent’s therapeutic home, where they serve at-promise youth males ages 13-21. Since 2012, she has worked with at-promise youth as a behavioral specialist on life skills including resume writing, job applications, applying for health insurance, obtaining an ID/driver’s license, scheduling appointments, teaching how to cook, creating healthy relationships, communication skills, etc. She has also been a tutor for her youth, a counselor, an advocate, a cheerleader, a parent, a mentor, anything they needed her to be, so they can live successful productive lives.
She is an active partner at her church Victory in Christ Christian Center. She teaches classes there in their Bible Training Center. She also serves in the culinary ministry and hospitality ministry as a greeter. When Venus was growing up she would always be the teacher, when she played school with her younger cousins and friends. In her teenage years and so on she would always be the person everyone came to for counseling or advice, but she never imagined this would be the work she would be doing.
Royalty was established in 2015 after a young man, whom the organization is dedicated to, who previously resided in her parent’s therapeutic home was executed by his best friend. This pain birthed a God given vision that something needed to be done to help our young men. Initially, she started the organization for young ladies, which was completely opposite of how the vision was given to her, helping her to realize why it was unsuccessful. Now Royalty is preparing for its launch with the right population in mind, males 13-23.
Her future goals include developing a school K-12, taking Royalty worldwide, writing books, speaking engagements, restaurants and all the other things God has for her along this journey. She envisions Royalty being a household name that come up in conversations with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, Big Brother Big Sister and the Salvation Army.
